🇳🇬⚖️ MAN DIES AFTER RECEIVING 40 STROKES OF CANE FOR RAPING 10-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN BAYELSA — Family Protests, Properties Destroyed
A man has died in the Ekeowe community of Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa State, after receiving 40 strokes of cane for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl.
According to reports, when the rape was discovered, women of the girl’s family examined the child to confirm the assault. The men of the family then took matters into their own hands, beating the suspect mercilessly until he died during the process.
Following the death, members of the deceased’s family staged a protest, which led to the destruction of properties in the community. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but tensions remain high as residents call for justice and calm.
