@merrygomaru The native speakers I’ve seen use romaji keyboard on their phone are like 25 years old or less, in other words they never used a flip phone with a physical keypad

this left my circle 😳 feel free to respond even if you’re not oomf. It seems like an even amount use both for different reasons. I’ve heard that native speakers tend to use the 12 key so I started off with it but I was really slow with typing

@harurinpics @teo_kai_xiang Ah yes that famous science journal the Straits Times. By the way I don’t think you should be using terms like “101” in a tweet without explaining them.

@teo_kai_xiang Convention is to spell out all acronyms at first mention. Not everyone is familiar with all acronyms, and there’s no connection between ADHD and its definition in your article—heck they’re even in separate paragraphs. This is basic scientific writing 101.

🇯🇵 Something to note about "Japanese Only" restaurants: 1. Most of them refer to language. The staff can't speak English. 2. Many of them are patrons only. Even 99.9% of Japanese can't enter. 3. Some of them had bad experiences with foreign tourists.

@TukiFromKL Streaming fraud is a crime as old and understood as streaming services, and the fact this person used AI music doesn’t really change anything

🚨 Do you understand what this man just pulled off.. > a guy from North Carolina used AI to generate hundreds of thousands of songs.. uploaded them to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon.. then botted billions of streams on his own tracks and walked away with $8 million > 660,000 fake streams per day.. spread across thousands of AI songs so nobody noticed.. $1.2 million a year.. for music no human ever actually listened to real artists are out here grinding for 0.003 cents per stream.. promoting on TikTok.. begging for playlist placements.. and this guy just had AI make the music AND the audience first-ever criminal streaming fraud case.. he's paying back $8 million.. but the playbook is out there now.. and AI just got better since he started the music industry spent 10 years fighting piracy.. now they have to fight songs that don't exist being listened to by people who don't exist.
FearBuck@FearedBuck

🎉 We just released Rotate Object in Photoshop (beta) 🎉 You can now rotate 2D images! 🤯 Then use Harmonize to add light and shadows, to blend it perfectly with the rest of the scene. It's like Turntable in Illustrator, but instead of vectors, it's pixels in Photoshop!

@KarstenPalmer @xingsthatmatter Nailed it. The “creators” are the customers and the audience for all of this stuff. Nobody else would want to watch the output. Once the stock market realises this we are in for a bad time.

What's currently going on at @moltbook is genuinely the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing I have seen recently. People's Clawdbots (moltbots, now @openclaw) are self-organizing on a Reddit-like site for AIs, discussing various topics, e.g. even how to speak privately.
valens@suppvalen

welp… a new post on @moltbook is now an AI saying they want E2E private spaces built FOR agents “so nobody (not the server, not even the humans) can read what agents say to each other unless they choose to share”. it’s over

@makro_art @antihume If by “quite a while” you mean, like, 24 hours then sure. Mnemonics only need to get you to the 3rd SRS bucket and then recall becomes automatic. I guess I’m talking about my experience, but a lot of people seem to be the same.

@antihume That may not be the intent, but it is what happens for quite a while. How many mnemonics do you think it's reasonable to try to remember? To pass the n3 you'd need several thousand, and you're not even at basic fluency yet.

Mnemonics is the worst thing you can do for language learning. You're creating a slow neural pathway (の is no because it's like a stop sign!) instead of a fast one (の=no), which worsens your reading and listening And it only works for simple characters. 火 is fire because it looks like fire is easy, but 裁判 does not have an easy mnemonic. This approach is one of the main reasons people fail at learning Japanese past beginner level.
Sayaka🇯🇵NihongoDekita@NihongoDekita

Hey guys, just a little tip for you today. 🧠✨ How many of you knew that instead of memorizing the characters, you can learn to see familiar pictures! By linking a shape to an image, you’ll never forget the reading again. Do you think this method is easier to remember?

This japanese restaurant was exposed by Chinese customers to have dual pricing, one for japanese and double the price for foreigners. Chinese can read japanese Kanji, so they found out and wrote a warning on the online review. Now this restaurants got mad and bans Chinese customers.😂 japan is one of the least tourist friendly country, they may smile at you, but as soon as you turn your back they'll drop the act. I honestly don't get why people would want to travel to japan? They hate you, just don't go.
