4G was launched over 16 years ago, yet only about 20% of Ghanaians have access to it. 5G was launched over 7 years ago, and less than 1% of Ghanaians have access to it. Yet these leaders are spending millions of dollars on AI projects and online courses that over 80% of Ghanaians can barely access effectively. They are doing it for themselves to get rich, not for you. And many people will still come here and defend them.

Credit where it’s due. I’ve spent months criticizing these digital bills, the Ministry, and the Minister of Communications because I believed some of the proposals were dangerous and needed to be challenged. Having gone through the amendments, I can say that many of the concerns Ghanaians raised have been addressed. The truth is, all the noise wasn’t in vain. The tweets, the Spaces, the articles, the stakeholder meetings and the public pressure made a difference. So thank you to the Ministry and the Minister @samgeorgegh for listening. We won’t agree on everything, but listening to citizens and making changes when concerns are raised is exactly how the process should work. That’s a win for Ghana. 🇬🇭

Sam George should know that there are plenty of porn websites, and you cannot enforce this on all of them. Just look at Telegram, X, and many other platforms. On top of that, people can easily use VPNs. No country has achieved significant success with this approach, better results come through proper parenting. Why not use your communication skills to encourage parents to guide their children on safe online content while focusing on making data more affordable and reliable so people can use the internet for learning? Focus on things you can actually control. Otherwise, it may sound like you are working effectively in the news, but on the ground, the impact is zero.
