@FrontierCorp so you know. Your “agent” who I was speaking to told me to go back to @GetSpectrum
English

@FrontierCorp absolute worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. Worthless.

The dishwasher broke
My wife said "good thing we have the home warranty"
I said nothing
I've been paying $62 a month for three years for this moment
$2,232 for the peace of mind that when something breaks someone will come to the house and tell me it's not covered
I called
47 minutes on hold
They sent a technician
Arrival window: Tuesday through Thursday between 8am and 5pm
My analyst delivers faster than that
And he still hasn't fixed the gridlines
He showed up Wednesday at 4:47pm
Looked at the dishwasher
Opened the door
Closed the door
Touched something underneath
Said "not covered"
90 seconds
That's faster than my bank lets me prove I'm human
I said "what's covered"
He said "the motor"
I said "what's wrong with it"
He said "not the motor"
I said "convenient"
He said the service fee is $75
I paid a man $75 to open my dishwasher, close my dishwasher, and say two words
My analyst could do that
And he's not even that good
I called the warranty company back
38 minutes on hold
Requested the policy
129 pages
I read all 129 pages
Because that's what I do
The coverage section is 34 pages
The exclusions section is 58
The business model is right there
In the margins
Where nobody reads
Except me
Page 91 says "all mechanical and electrical components essential to appliance function are covered under standard service"
Page 104 excludes control panels
A control panel is an electrical component essential to appliance function
Their own document contradicts itself 13 pages apart
I highlighted both
Sent them an email
Subject line: "Plz fix. Thx."
Attached both pages
No other context
Took them three days to send a technician
Took them 4 hours to call me back when I found the loophole
Funny how that works
They covered the repair
Waived the $75
And I canceled the warranty anyway
Because a contract that contradicts itself isn't a contract
It's a suggestion
My wife said "so we're canceling"
I said "we're canceling"
She said "and the dishwasher"
I said "fixed. They're covering it."
She said "how"
I said "I read the policy"
She said "all 129 pages"
I said "the exclusions section starts on page 47. The coverage section ends on page 34. There are 13 pages between them where they hoped nobody would look."
She looked at me
Then she said "you're unbelievable"
I said "I just saved us $744 a year and got a free dishwasher repair. I'm not unbelievable. I'm thorough."
She looked at the ceiling
The dishwasher works now
The warranty is canceled
And the policy has been read
By at least one person
Probably the first
Make common sense common again
Plz fix. Thx.

Saturday afternoon
My kid's soccer game
I'm in the cargo shorts
Capri Sun in pocket three
Backup batteries in pocket five
You never know
Timex on
Folding chair set up six feet from any other parent
On purpose
By 1:04 a dad on the other team was screaming
Not encouraging
Screaming
At a referee who is legally not old enough to drive to this game
The kids are five
Half of them are running the wrong direction
One kid just did a cartwheel at midfield
And this man wants a replay review
His wife whispered something to him
He did not lower his voice
She moved her chair three feet to the left
I've seen that move before
My wife does it at every professional appointment I attend
It means "I don't know this person"
Rolex Ron was there too
Standing
Arms crossed
Sunglasses on
His kid touched the ball once
With his shin
Ron clapped like it was a goal
It was not a goal
The game ended
I don't know the score
Neither do the kids
The only person who tracked it was the screaming dad
He told everyone in the parking lot it was 4-3
No one asked
My daughter ran over
She said "dad I had so much fun"
Not "we won"
Not "I scored"
Just "I had fun"
Five years old and she already understands something half the parents on that sideline never will
I handed her the Capri Sun
Loaded the chairs
Timex still ticking

Rename one of the Navy ships after Chuck Norris. Not the Cesar Chavez one, because it's just a dry cargo ship. The legend needs a destroyer with his name on it. Get it done, @PeteHegseth

Unpopular opinion….
I don’t want robo umpires in the MLB.
I want to argue calls, see coaches and players get thrown out of games.
I want to complain about bad umpires.
I want the human element in the game.

It doesn’t matter what you want to call it:
• Travel ball
• Select ball
• Tournament ball
• League ball
• City League ball
• Little League ball
It’s still youth baseball. It’s a hard game being played by kids. That alone is a challenge but then add in adult emotions and intentions of wanting to be “superior” and you have a recipe for disaster. Keep those expectations realistic.
Even though some of these kids have grown quicker than others, were born with different abilities than their peers, they are still kids. They will make mistakes (a lot), struggle with focus, look amazing one second then trip on nothing the next, have poor body language, tear up and do many other things that get under us adults skin.
Yep, they are kids! Funny thing is once upon a time we were them and did the same things, made off the wall comments, had squirrel moments and drove our parents, coaches and teachers crazy. So in reality, we get frustrated with them for the same things we did 🤔.
This is youth baseball. No matter how we want to spin it and give it a title that implies we are better than the others, I would slow down and remember that this phase in their lives is not about us. Not about our experience but all about them, their personal growth as young athletes and people and we are here to help them get the most out of it for as long as they would like to play the game.
In fact, we have an opportunity to enjoy something with them that many of us enjoyed growing up. And for a few of them, their ability will grow into something amazing which will lead to opportunities they dream of.
Grow the game!
