I don’t understand the reason for the speculations. Patrick Dorgu is NOT a left winger. I would not even say Cunha is a traditional left winger so what’s the reasoning for?? We need a Lw and a Lb. We can easily get Ndiaye from Everton and Hall or Cucu from Newcastle or Chelsea.

Carrick don’t want a 6 and that’s is stupid. The last time Manchester United played without a Defensive Midfielder (DM) was under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Era (often called the “McFred” partnership). Mctominay wasn’t a DM and Fred was also not a DM, both Mctominay and Fred were CM) box to box midfielder and it was a disaster cause both players vacated the midfield to join the attack or when they attacked and lost the ball, McFred were nowhere to be seen to win the ball back. Hence United midfield was always empty, vacant and vulnerable under Ole during the season he was sacked.

Ederson plays as an 8 Alex Scott plays as an 8 Mateus Fernandes plays as an 8 Manchester United is not PSG. Premier League is not Ligue 1. Premier League is more demanding and physical and all team needs a ball winner or 6 or DM who can win possession and duels in the midfield. Manchester United will be punished if they go into next season without a DM.

Dorgu might be the most confusing signing Manchester United have made in years. If you ever want to understand madness at Manchester United, look at the pattern. €100m+ on Sancho. €90m on Hojlund. €100m+ on Antony. Now we are talking about another €100m for Mateus Fernandes. See the problem? I am not saying Mateus will flop. That’s not the point. The point is this club keeps throwing insane money at players coming off one big season. Then acts shocked when the pressure crushes them. United used to buy proven monsters. Now we buy hype at luxury prices. One elite season is not enough. The Premier League has fooled people before. Players explode for a year. Then disappear the next season. We’ve seen it too many times. Consistency matters. Two, three, four strong seasons. That tells you who a player really is. That’s why signings like Sesko, Mbeumo and Cunha make more sense. You can track the level. You can trust the production. Mateus Fernandes had a phenomenal season. Nobody denies that. But concerns about consistency are completely fair. Especially when you are about to spend superstar money.
