So long, Twitter, and congratulations for your majestic $44 billion funeral. What's happening, as you liked to ask? It's now happening, at least for me, on Mastodon and LinkedIn: @MichaelOpdenacker" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">fosstodon.org/web/@MichaelOplinkedin.com/in/michaelopde…

If you are using a board with a TI ARM chip such as AM335x in the 32 bit BeagleBone boards from @beagleboardorg, you may have trouble creating a bootable SD card, if you use a recent GNU/Linux distribution. See bootlin.com/blog/workaroun… for details and a workaround.

I've been teasing about it for quite a long time in my embedded Linux training sessions for quite some time, and we eventually managed to find time to implement this new course on Linux debugging, profiling, tracing and performance analysis: bootlin.com/blog/new-train…

For people who live near Orange in France, and are interested in a general introduction (in French) to Free Software. By the way, not sure all the pictures on the pamphlet made by Café Jardin correspond to Free Software. There are some icons I don't recognize.

Did you know that @IBM is originally from Austria? At least I found this out while driving in the area north of Salzburg. And if you zoom on the sign on this photo, you will see that they still have a computer repair and service shop there.

About containers, I strongly recommend this eye opening "Containers – A Look Under the Hood" talk from Gerlof Langeveld: static.sched.com/hosted_files/o… This shows how standard interfaces allow to control which system resources applications can access, in a shared or private way.

Here is an update of our diagram following the size of the PREEMPT_RT patchset for the Linux kernel. We can see the size bouncing back a bit with Linux 6.0. See lwn.net/Articles/90998… about the last remaining bits. Can't wait to see which changes will make it into version 6.1!

I was in Austria last week, and apparently it rained quite a lot the days before. It's mushroom season!

Last week, I was teaching our new embedded Linux course at a customer in Austria, and everything was perfect: passionate engineers, great organization and an amazing venue. In particular, the coffee was excellent and brewed by a Linux distribution generated by the @yoctoproject.

Interested in Embedded Linux Conference 2022 presentations? I've added all the individual video links to elinux.org/index.php?titl… elinux.org is the Embedded Linux Wiki in case you didn't know. That's one of the best places where you can share what you're learning.
