@Chaos_Mannequin @SonnieJohnson That may be the metric for you, but for her, the metric was for whoever hit a trillion. Has anyone hit 1.2 trillion in assets besides the people in the shadows?

@SonnieJohnson There are only 27 Black billionaires worldwide representing less than 1% of the total population of billionaires, of which a few are clearly very mixed-race. The notion that all-Black people can easily generate extreme wealth is a fictitious one.

@arthurwatkins For 20 plus teenage witnesses, you bring in an expert to help the jury out. Them kids were all over the place and nobody had a straight story. Even then, he lost. Smh. I have seven credible reasons an appeal is warranted with - new jury instructions for Christ’s sake.

Defense: “You told the detective Austin reached up and tapped Karmelo on the shoulder? Melo is still seated?” Witness: “Yes.” Defense: “There’s a touch, and then there’s a grab?” Witness: “Yes.” Defense: “He [Austin] grabbed with both hands?” Witness: “Both of his hands were in motion.” CBS also reported from the arrest report that “one witness said Metcalf touched Anthony, and another said Metcalf grabbed Anthony.” And Courthouse News reported a defense witness said he saw someone’s arms reach out and “saw a push” into Anthony. courthousenews.com/defense-rests-…
Amanda@AmandaH53287213

@arthurwatkins How do you know he touched him? Jesus are you this obtuse? You just said that without video evidence you can’t take someone’s word for it re:Karmelo so that would work the same way for Austin. 🤦‍♀️

@Hurricane762 @nativelandpod @bakarisellers This is precisely the issue in all fairness. The prosecutor’s wheelhouse is murder cases. Been doing it for 30 years. He has a full belt of bodies on him through the justice system. He is the real “killer” out of everyone involved here.

35 years. Zero years. @bakarisellers breaks down why that comparison continues to resonate with so many people and what it says about race, justice, and accountability in America. 🎧 Full conversation on Native Land Pod

I’d cut a deal to ineffective counsel on appeal. The prosecutor’s fucking wheelhouse is murder trials. 30+ years. The prosecutor has had his hand in killing people through this system for a while now, and Karmelo is lucky that is not happening right now- dealing with this guy. Defense has little or no experience in murder cases, like wtf?

@MadScientist_42 @Gretchen_Lulu @ThomasEWoods Frank, I litigate. Spare me this goyslop would ya? The response by prosecution gave enough preponderance to rule out racial bias. Both sides utilized educational aspects. Prosecutorial misconduct is one of the most rare and unique charges that are “stickable” since ever.

A proportionate response to a shove/close line/jump/grab/(etc. you name it because actual testimony was conflicted on this issue). It comes back inconclusive on what specifically Austin did, or others may have done here(doubtful he got jumped). I can tell you that what likely happen is that they (jury) saw a dead teenager and said, “well, he’s got to be held accountable for that.” I’m almost 100 percent sure not one jury member called to question the genuine intention of Karmelo. I would have, because murder is not found unless intentional. I’d ask jury members to help me out, because I don’t see intent. Like, what did the prosecutor claim as intent? He often carries the knife. It’s not because of that day he had it. He was minding his own business with a friend under the very same tent- so I’m hearing- maybe false. I didn’t know there was someone who apparently called him over there? I don’t like niggas and I don’t like when people die. I also don’t like when people add up unknowns to justify a kill. There has been a lot of overturns in this justice system on murder. Like, too many.

@Gretchen_Lulu @MadScientist_42 @ThomasEWoods If the roles were reversed, my friend, I would be taking everything into account like I am. I’m thorough, and people can’t deal with that because social media is rewiring their brain for about 20 seconds of attention. I’m a law practitioner.

Not for a teenager with zero training in fighting at all, and zero altercations, period. This was his first ever altercation in school- I’m being told. Can you beat up Austin Metcalf? Can you shove him? How many other students can honestly say they would be able to actually shove 230 lb Metcalf out of the way? I can dispel this shit, trust and believe. You can’t help but see murder? 🤦🏾‍♂️ In order for murder, there needs to be intent. That is particularly unfounded. The jury was given authority to connect this missing part of the story.

@nfoexceptional @sportsnow41 @ThomasEWoods Then he's going to prison for being a dumbass, because it's common knowledge that if you stab someone in the mid torso, there is a strong possibility the person will die.

@Gretchen_Lulu @MadScientist_42 @ThomasEWoods Gretchen that’s not the case. Before initiation, all was well with Karmelo right there where he was. This all started with AM. It did not start because a person was not under their own tent.

Said person was not involved to be under my tent to begin with. So I asked said person to move out under my tent. He chose to mouth and say make me. So I asked a woman would had pushed his ass out like and other woman, he Karmelo chose to grab a knife and stab him. I have been hit by grown ass men and never went to get a knife to stab them. Guess what I fought by hand and lost and have the scares to prove it. STFU MAKING EXCUSES FOR A YOUNG BOY THAT RUINED HIS LIFE TRYING TO BE “TOUGH”. He will find out in prison how tough he is. I ACTUALLY FEEL BAD FOR THE YOUNG GUY HAVING TO FIGURE OUT AT HUS AGE YOU CANNOT JUST GO STAB SOMEONE AND MURDER THEN WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES. THE PARENTS ARE HEARTBROKEN I GET IT. I TURN MY OWN SON IN FOR STEALING AND BREAKING INTO MY COMMUNITIES HOMES.

It is how it works my friend. You can shoot a man in defense and you can also wish he wouldn’t die, but survive the shot. Karmelo literally told police in that moment that he hope he didn’t die. He didn’t say anything remotely like “well, he shouldn’t have kept coming at me bro” this is about fairness and limiting victims’ ability to defend themselves more to equal than their perpetrator’s actions. No one asked any of the kids if they could beat up Austin Metcalf.

@nfoexceptional @kingdesy @dreac711 @jungleasianfc @WesleyHuntTX That not how the law works, you can’t willfully shoot someone and they die then claim it wasn’t your intention, same with stabbing someone, if you don’t have grounds for self defense, it’s murder. Getting shoved and told to leave isn’t justification for lethal force, full stop

Austin Metcalf is dead. Let’s stop dancing around the obvious. Austin Metcalf received the death penalty. Karmelo Anthony received 35 years. One of them lives. One of them gets a gravestone. Save the faux outrage. The real victim in this case is NOT the convicted killer. The real victim is the young man who will never come home again and the family that will spend the rest of their lives grieving a loss that can never be undone. This was a track meet. A place for competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship. NOT violence. NOT murder. And spare us the racial narratives. Murder is wrong regardless of the race of the victim or the perpetrator. Any decent society should be able to agree on that. Austin Metcalf lost everything. His family got a life sentence of grief. And while some are busy turning this tragedy into a racial debate, the Metcalf family is looking at the empty chair at the dinner table and remembering who actually paid the highest price. Austin Metcalf got the death penalty. Never forget that.

Yeah no he wasn’t trespassing as he was a track runner, so was Metcalf, not all tents were available, it rained, more people were not where there were “supposed” to be given the context. I’m sure you feel like a woman can pull a knife and stab a man one time after being shoved by that man. Austin Metcalf - man. White 220-225 lb. wrestling/football/some martial arts/ known bully/plenty of wins under his belt in hand to hand fights. Known “shit starter” Karmelo - woman. 160 lb track runner/safety/cornerback. That’s it. Zero fights. ever. Has no school record. Has not undergone any formal training for fighting. Has not undergone any training at all other than sports. He was seated up against Metcalf, mind you - so yeah, it’s proportional when you dive deeper.

Shoot it’s unfortunate as hell, but I wouldn’t want case precedent in Texas that says you CAN get physical and shove others unwarranted and without legal right, and when it happens, the victim is LIMITED in defending himself to physicality. He can’t “up the ante”. That’s what this is going to mean out there in Texas. A man can get physical with a woman and the woman cannot use a knife one time. No I want the woman to use a knife. a White 230lb Wrestling/Football(LINEBACKER/some martial arts training teenager that’s a known bully and gets into fights alot gets physical with a 160 lbs Black track runner/football(SAFETY/CORNERBACK)no training and zero fights in school- none. Yup. Not one. Never fought. School record is clean A-1. This is the real problem that’s coming from the jury’s decision.

No there aren’t. He could have snagged an artery. It was not intentional, however. It was more so a way of standing up for him self. That is the hallmark of defending. Legally, Austin has no place. Public opinion thinks Karmelo went to the tent with intent (pun in-tent-ed) See what I did there. A 3 way conveyance.

@kingdesy @dreac711 @nfoexceptional @jungleasianfc @WesleyHuntTX Doesn’t matter if his intention wasn’t to kill him, he made the decision to use a weapon with the potential to kill plus he stabbed Austin in the chest where all the vital organs are. Honestly there aren’t many places to “safely” stab someone

@star_xeno @plantsyMN @ThomasEWoods Murder is not specifically an unjustified kill. Murder is intentional. Nothing about it screams intentional to me.
