China is claiming that the Japanese man detained for trespassing on the grounds of their embassy in Tokyo claimed to be an active duty JSDF officer who knew he was breaking the law. He allegedly threatened to kill Chinese diplomats "in place of the gods.” When a right-wing extremist rammed a vehicle into the gate of a Chinese consulate in 2004, the Japanese government arrested the man and officially apologized to China. Will the Takaichi administration apologize for this?

The Clone Wars cartoon did a lot to rehabilitate the reputation of The Prequels. Was genuinely hoping they'd be able to salvage The Sequels thru ancillary material.

every time someone mentions the font calibri, i'm reminded of the greatest story in the history of fonts - the 'fontgate' scandal in pakistan, where nawaz sharif's corruption was caught due to backdated documents using the calibri font which was commonly launched only in 2007

It's common (?) knowledge that president Reagan cited Ibn Khaldun for his tax policies, but what I didn't know is that the NYTimes (2 Oct 1981 A26) contacted Franz Rosenthal and asked him if Reagan understood him correctly. Apparently Prof. Rosenthal confirmed that he did!
