Welcome back to oddities of the Australian cultural sphere. Today we have a press release from the Monash University on the topic of yesterday's news. I often mention that it would be of huge benefit to the academic sphere for true diversity of sociopolitical opinion to grace social sciences faculties, partly to moderate output, partly to make the faculty alumni more well-rounded and to make researchers more self-critical. Without this, we end up with self-referential nobodies attributing common terms from subcultural lexicon to their own genius, which is always quite odd. Lend-a-comment often has value when speaking to your traditional STEM folk, or individuals with proven in-field experience. Coming from these departments however, it's likely to be a hard pass unless the Daily Telegraph or another rag wants to make you the page 8 joke.
