@MrProWestie That last sentence is right on the money and is exactly where I feel BF6 has lost touched with it's roots. It's not unsavable but they really need to start listening and focusing on bringing back that player-driven sandbox that made people love the series.

I don’t think the Season 2 is going to entice players back and if future Seasons are modelled in the same way, they won’t make a dent either: - Not enough new maps - 2 maps split 1 month apart, lapsing players between drops - Gas mask is a gimmick, NVGs look like one too based on b-roll - Little Bird should have been there at launch - Dirt Bike should be live now, not Phase 2 - IGLA should have been there at launch - No weapon progression fixes, current system doesn’t respect player’s time - Vehicle “glass cannon” balance not fixed yet new heli has been added using current unsatisfying balance model - Netcode still very fragile, lots of work needed to resolve this - TTK needs sorting out, somewhat tied to netcode perhaps (one frame deaths, dying behind cover etc.) - Operations being limited time is baffling, beloved BF1 mode being used as a FOMO mechanic - Portal experiences still hidden in the worst UI ever made for a Battlefield game - No server browser to allow communities to form and congregate in certain servers on specific days/times - No persistent, official servers to allow players to choose what they want to play The new Contaminated map is actually good fun. It’s just a shame people are going to fatigue on it so fast because there’s no other maps dropping with it to keep things fresh. That’s why 4-map DLCs worked so well for BF3 and BF4; you rotated through several maps, keeping each more interesting and entertaining for longer. The entire focus of Battlefield 6’s live service is wrong for the audience that plays Battlefield games. Stop making “experiences” and instead a base game where players make their own. You know, the whole “sandbox” element that Battlefield is known for: give players the tools, they’ll make the experience.

Update days for Battlefield just don't hit like they did in 2013. Sure I'll give the new map a spin for a couple of hours, but man do I miss the days of spinning up that new expansion 24/7 server and losing my tiny mind for days on end.

I think the most important thing is consistency. I really dislike the constant "tweaking" we see in other FPS games with core gameplay mechanics like TTK, TTD and gun balance constantly changing. I think this is fine in Early Access but once the game launches, i'd hope things would mostly stay the same (apart from new content like maps, weapons, vehicles etc).

In 1988 my dream car was a Renault 5 Campus. Didn’t have the money, got declined on finance and also the insurance was way too much. The two maps, Contaminated and Hagental Base, are being split up into two different phases: Contaminated in Phase 1, "Extreme Measures" Hagental Base in Phase 2, "Nightfall" Phase 3 features the return of Operations... but it's Limited Time 🙃🙃🙃

Battlefield 6 is looking like another poor example of live service right now… I know live service can work, but it has not once, ever, worked well in Battlefield.

Played some much of this over the last few weeks and it just doesn't get old 😁
