A man who has been an addict to opium for 10 years is much less culpable than the man who does opium for the first time. It's wrong to do opium, but the man who is an addict is guilty of less

If Clark believed “you’re a terrible person if you kill” just universally, then the response would not have been to basically adopt David. He has that response because context matters.

He is not making a universal claim about murder being unjustifiable in every situation. And a fetus requires a completely different moral framework anyway.
