why not let them ride as women?? i swear to god this franchise got away with so much casual misogyny and exclusion of women when it isn’t even tolkien adherent like that lol this shit wouldn’t side today
Massimo@Rainmaker1973

Fun fact. In the Lord of the Rings films, most of the Riders of Rohan were actually women with fake beards because when the production put out a call for local experienced riders, a lot of women showed up with their own horses.

@yandjoshi Tolkien did not have women fighting in battles except in cases of extreme necessity, and he preferred his women at home.

Raw Force ability isn't a Gary Stu ability. It'd be different if he were born knowing every specific force ability in a polished manner but just having the strength to awkwardly force down a Destroyer by brute will isn't Gary Stu.

A.) Starkiller suffered/grew as a character B.) It was a video game and people recognize accuracy is sacrificed for fun gameplay but most importantly… C.) People absolutely complained about how insane this was

@naMnaSYt This is because Legend of Korra was a cash grab that bowed to The Agenda and had no good reason to exist and which shat all over the pre established lore

Not necessarily an issue (atleast not in my book), but I really do wish they went for the retro futuristic look for Metropolis. With them starting a brand new cinematic universe that would naturally have its own visual language as well as Gunn himself talking in great lengths how the DCU is an alternate history thus creating a world not like ours, it is disappointing that he didn’t capitalize on that and go for something visually distinct or even alien. Especially with all the references from countless artists throughout the near century. It still looks better than most cityscapes in modern superhero films though.

why cant people comprehend that dick grayson was right to take damian as his robin after he became batman and also that tim is right for being upset? why cant dc fans comprehend complexity? its always “dick is horrible for this!” or “tim overreacted!”

#BruceWayne from #WayneFamilyAdventures is how he SHOULD be in the canon continuity. But he's not. In main continuity Bruce isn't even real, he's just #Batman's convenient legal identity that makes him rich. He doesn't even identify with the name on a deep level

@Asupermanfan And S11 Smallville Supes is like, the 3rd or 4th strongest baseline Superman in the entirety of the multiverse. Dude pushed away the omniversal, omnidimensional Apokalips with his bare hands; he also tanked hits from The Bleed and shrugged them off

HEROGEEK wants to bring heroes back.
@RidingTheTiger1 Nope no ACTUAL comic yet, currently in the writing stage after a VERY long and bad case of writers block and lack of motivation, but I've FINALLY gotten over it and am on a roll creatively. Thank you so much though. It's really affirming to know I have your interest and support.

HEROGEEK wants to bring heroes back.
All of this talk around Invincible, all the arguing, all the defending, all the mental gymnastics people are doing, it’s honestly just brought something out of me that I’ve felt for a long time. There is nothing, nothing more pure, more holy, more Godly than a man and a woman coming together, getting married, and raising children 🙏✝️ Not fame, not power, not success. A family. A husband and a wife who choose each other every single day ❤️ Children raised with love, with discipline, with values, with purpose. A father holding his child for the first time and realizing his life is no longer about him. A mother pouring her heart and soul into raising that child to be kind, strong, and good. That is sacred. That is divine. That is one of the closest things we have to something truly God-given in this world ✨ And that is why superheroes have always meant something deeper to me. These are characters who protect the innocent, who sacrifice for others, who stand for truth, for justice, for what is right. And the idea that those same heroes would take that love, that responsibility, that selflessness and pour it into a family, into raising the next generation, that is not just storytelling. That is legacy. That is purpose. That is something that can bring a grown man to tears if he actually sits and thinks about it long enough 😢 And we keep getting robbed of that. Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson, a relationship people believed in, rooted for, grew up with, destroyed. A marriage erased. A future wiped away. The idea of them building a life together, gone unless it is shoved into some alternate universe so it does not count. Superman, the embodiment of hope, the ultimate symbol of what a man should strive to be. And the chance to really see him be a father, to raise his son, to guide him, to teach him what it means to be a man, to be a hero, to be good, we barely get to live in that. It is rushed, twisted, sidelined, anything but letting it exist in its full, Godly beauty. And now with Invincible, it is the same pattern all over again. A hero, someone who is supposed to protect innocent life, turns around and destroys the most innocent life imaginable because it was too hard. And people defend it. They rationalize it. They try to normalize it. No. I do not care how many essays people write. I do not care how much context they throw at it. That is the exact opposite of what a hero is supposed to be. Because real heroism is not just punching villains or saving cities. It is choosing responsibility. It is choosing sacrifice. It is choosing to protect life when it is inconvenient, when it is difficult, when it costs you something. That is what makes someone a hero. And the idea of a hero choosing to build a family, to protect that life, to raise it with love and purpose, that is one of the most powerful, most Godly expressions of heroism there is. Not just saving the world, but building something worth saving 💫 And I am tired of seeing that thrown away. I am tired of it being subverted, mocked, erased, or treated like it does not matter. So let me make something very clear. In my universe, that matters. In my stories, love matters. Marriage matters. Family matters. My heroes will grow. They will fall in love. They will get married. They will have children. And they will raise them. You will see the joy, the struggle, the quiet moments, the proud moments, the moments that make life what it is. No deals with the devil erasing marriages. No skipping over it. No undermining it. And definitely no destroying innocent life because it is too hard. Paragon Prime, Duncan, and Maribel Reyes will have that life. They will build something real. And when they hold their child for the first time, that moment will be treated with the weight, the reverence, and the Godly beauty it deserves 👶❤️ I will not rob them of that. I will not deny them that purpose. Because to me, that is the heart of true heroism. Not just standing against evil, but choosing love, choosing family, choosing to create and protect life. That is sacred. That is Godly. And I will honor that. That is a promise.

if blue can win 58% even on this website that self-selects for the kind of game theory-brained amoral weirdo that would press red, it couldn't be more obvious that it's the correct option
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

@shaggysurvives In REAL LIFE many of the virtue signalling folk choosing blue and patting themselves on the back would 1000% choose red in a scenario where they are actually going to die. The proof? Most of those choosing blue are fine with abortion for cases of mild inconvenience...

Wife and I found an amazing house today on 2 acres of land in a very nice neighborhood. Significant upgrade from our current home/yard/hood. The kiddos want to veto it because they would have to switch elementary schools. They are in 2nd grade and kindergarten. Dad advice?
