Terrible news about the passing of Geoff Burrow - Rob’s dad. Seemed like a thoroughly nice man who loved his family beyond anything else. #RIPGeoff

Absolutely terrible news. Didn't know Geoff Burrow well, but he was a tower of strength and spoke to him before the Ashes third Test. Such a kind man, and had interviewed him when he was part of the players' union. Thoroughly decent person. RIP. Leed Rhinos statement: "It is with deep sadness that the club has learnt of the passing on Monday 30th March of Geoff Burrow, the father of Rob Burrow, after a period of ill health. Leeds-born Geoff was a tireless campaigner for the MND community following Rob’s diagnosis in December 2019 and continued that work after Rob’s passing in June 2024. A devoted husband, father and a grandfather, Geoff brought Rob to his first ever game at Headingley and started his love of the Rhinos.  Geoff was always a champion for those who did not have a voice throughout his career as a trade union representative. The club would like to pass on our deepest condolences to Geoff’s wife Irene and the Burrow family at this sad time. We would like to ask that the family are given privacy at this time. May he rest in peace."

@airlie_bird …been upto the job for a number of years and now a new broom is sweeping through with the aim of improving that. I don’t see it as one season of success. In each year we have been to a major final and improved our league position. Willie has done a phenomenal job at the club.

Willie Peters will be a loss to the game in the UK. But what is his legacy. Yes a season of unprecedented success. But what's coming through? Will it be a one season high or do Rovers fans feel there is more success to come?

@airlie_bird Not many head coaches are around long enough to have an impact on the quality of player coming through. Willie was brought in to make the first team successful and it is upto others further down the chain to bring the young players through. The personnel doing that have not….

@GavWilson Different refs, different opinions on what is a six again and what isn’t. No consistency from game to game or even half to half.

I cannot stress enough how much I despise the awful 'Six Again' rule.

@Brooksyhfc Met Junior a couple to times. A really nice guy and a very good player. Didn’t get treated fairly by Sheens IMO but that’s professional sport unfortunately.

@russell_tether @hullkrofficial Coming in from the side is fine. If you come in low and from the back that is a very dangerous tackle and can cause serious injury. If you hit above the knees then fine but going at the knees from behind is a very bad tackle and the players know they can’t do that anymore!!

@sharpster69 @hullkrofficial If he'd attack from the side I would agree with you but tackles from behind and low are made all the time in rugby .

Karl Lawton has received a Grade E “Dangerous Contact” charge from the Match Review Panel following yesterday's game against Huddersfield Giants. Karl has been given a three-game suspension and a fine.

@russell_tether @hullkrofficial A cannonball is a bad tackle and cause severe injury. It wasn’t clear at the game yesterday but if Willie and Karl have gone into the Ginats dressing room and apologised then you know what they think. I’m sure it wasn’t meant but it deserves a ban .

Found this photo taken around 1977. Who can identify my t-shirt? Yes, it's the doo-wop revival band Darts. They were pretty big in the late 70s/early 80s. I knew a girl who worked for them and she gave me the shirt. Be hard to find one of these today.

I hope people realise and remember how good MVG has been. 48 major titles is an amazing return on his career. He may not win anymore but I seriously hope he does and gets to 50.

@johnnyddavidson Not seen it myself - was at the game so not clear to see but assuming from the apology from Willie / players to Matty and the Giants that it wasn’t great. Understand there was no intent or maliciousness but hitting the back of the knee is a bad look and has caused some damage.

@sharpster69 Gave the players the chance to atone for their performance in Vegas, and they delivered. Still haven't seen the Lawton cannonball. Missed it at the game, and can't see to get the replay on Sky.
