Lady rescued after 4 years of being Chained and locked inside the house by her Brother Over a Business dispute A woman was reportedly rescued from captivity in the Mpape area of Maitama Extension, Abuja, after allegedly being chained and locked inside a dark room by her brother for four years following a dispute over a cement business they started together. According to an eyewitness account, the woman’s brother allegedly declared her mentally unstable and confined her in a room to prevent her from claiming her share of the business. The situation came to light when a man fetching water near the compound heard unusual sounds coming from a locked room. Alarmed by what he heard, he alerted members of the community, who forced their way into the room and found the woman chained inside. She was subsequently rescued and rushed to a hospital for medical attention, as she was unable to walk after years of alleged confinement. The eyewitness further claimed that the woman’s daughter had gone missing and alleged that the brother was responsible for the child’s disappearance alleging that the child may have been used for ritual purposes. However, these claims remain unverified.

DANDUME IN TEARS AS BANDITS KILL PROMINENT FARMER, ALHAJI BALA SANIN KAWO Bandits have reportedly kidnapped and killed Alhaji Bala Sanin Kawo, a prominent farmer and businessman from Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State. Alhaji Bala was regarded as one of the most influential agricultural figures in Dandume, producing thousands of bags of farm produce annually and creating employment opportunities for over 5,000 people. He was the eldest son of Alhaji Sani Kawo, one of the most respected farmers in the history of the local government. According to reports, on Thursday, June 11, 2026, Alhaji Bala and one of his aides, Bara'u Kwaro, were abducted by bandits while returning from one of his farms near Dantakari town. Sadly, at about 1PM today, the bandits reportedly contacted his family and informed them that they had killed him, directing relatives to the location where his body could be recovered. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, friends and the people of Dandume the strength to bear this painful and irreplaceable loss. This tragedy comes amid worsening insecurity in Dandume and neighboring local governments, where residents have endured repeated attacks, abductions and killings in recent days.
