This Tax Day, USCIS—under the Trump administration—is reaffirming our commitment to ensuring that taxpayer-funded public benefits are not exploited and don’t serve as an incentive to immigrate here.

While vetting an alien from Colombia, our staff uncovered a DUI conviction and charges for felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony battery. @ICEgov apprehended him when he arrived at our office for his asylum interview. America is not open to those who threaten the safety of American citizens.

On Monday, a DHS employee, Lauren Bullis, was brutally shot and stabbed to death by Olaolukitan Adon Abel, a 26-year-old, born in the United Kingdom, who was naturalized by the Biden Administration in 2022.  Since President Trump took office, @USCIS has implemented measures to ensure individuals with criminal histories and who otherwise lack good moral character do not attain citizenship. He possesses a prior criminal record that includes convictions for sexual battery, battery against a police officer, obstruction, and assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and now stands accused of murdering @DHSgov employee Lauren Bullis by shooting and stabbing her while she walked her dog. He has also been arrested for the murder of an unidentified woman whom he reportedly shot outside a Checkers, before randomly shooting a homeless man multiple times outside a Kroger in Brookhaven. These acts of pure evil have devastated our Department and my prayers are with the families of the victims.

A violent & highly dangerous Barrio 18 gang member alien from Honduras—wanted for committing FIVE MURDERS abroad—is now off our streets. @ICEgov and @CBP arrested the suspect when he came to our office for an asylum interview. USCIS’ extensive background checks, rigorous vetting, and interagency cooperation work together to keep America safe.

An alien from El Salvador with a removal order from more than 25 years ago, was taken into custody by @ICEgov when he appeared at our Charlotte office for a family petition interview. Outstanding removal orders will not get past intense screening and vetting procedures put in place by the Trump Administration. When a judge orders removal, the law will be enforced.

USCIS recently played a critical role in the arrest of Dawood Hussain, an illegal Pakistani alien charged with felony vehicular homicide, after driving a commercial truck the wrong way on a Pennsylvania highway in October 2023.
