I am not a Republican. If you thought I was, you thought wrong and must be new here. I am a registered independent with very libertarian economic views and socially conservative values. I will vote for the candidate who I think will do the best job upholding my values. That could be a Republican, but it could also be a third party candidate. When I voted in the 2024 election, I cast my vote for reduced government spending, lower gas prices, no new wars, the elimination of “net zero” policies, and mass deportations of illegal aliens. Only the latter two have been accomplished in significant capacity, albeit mass deportations have effectively backed off ever since the administration got some pushback from Minnesota. Sure, the Democrats are batshit crazy and they haven’t toned down their woke rhetoric. But now that I am out in the real world outside of academia and on my own, I don’t encounter the alphabet cult that much anymore (especially living in Alabama), and the culture war matters far less to me now compared to when it did when I was in college. The economic burdens that almost every young person is facing continue to be ignored. The generational divide in terms of what voters care most about couldn’t be larger, especially in conservative circles. Those who are over the age of 45 tend to care more about Middle Eastern affairs while my generation cares about trying to make housing affordable, groceries less expensive, and bring gas prices down so we can climb the ladder like previous generations did. The only difference with the youth is that you have the socialist faction who wants “free” shit, and a hard right-wing faction (especially Gen Z men) that want income taxes abolished, welfare / entitlement programs ended, and the federal government gutted like an eight-point buck. If no Republican fits that bill come 2028, he or she won’t get my vote. And, no, I’d never vote for Democrats. I’ll just vote for third party. I am done playing the “lesser of the two evils” game. It has made zero difference in my life and why must we settle for less time and time again? When will primary voters get informed instead of endorsing whoever they see on FOX and MSNBC? If that results in Democrats winning, that should send a powerful message to the GOP establishment that they need to pull their heads out of their asses and follow through with their campaign promises. They should start caring more about Americans than foreigners, especially investing in young people who are the future of this country. Republicans have control of all three branches of government. And, I don’t want to hear shit about “RINOs.” Most of the RINOs causing problems Trump either endorses (e.g., Lindsey Graham, John Thune, Mike Johnson) or refuses to primary (e.g., Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski despite ranked choice voting in the latter). The excuses for why Republicans can’t accomplish anything of merit are wearing thin. Deport all illegals (ignore any district judges who stand in the way), cut federal spending or have every member of Congress arrested who fails to vote for a balanced the budget, and quit meddling in foreign affairs that have no net benefit to us (which essentially no war we have fought since WWII has); in other words, ban foreign lobbyists. I rest my case. If you disagree, I’m all ears, but you best have a legitimate counter argument.

Unreal. Trump is out of control. Paxton is a criminal.....way too much baggage. As a Texan...as a Conservative.....I just won't vote. Democrats have a loser and so do Republicans. I have one home in Trump Country....Hood County. It's shameful how mindless these people are....follow their leader right off the cliff.

Trump betrayed a decent, honorable man who had a 99.2 percent record of supporting him in the U.S. Senate. He destroyed the career of U.S. Senator Cornyn to elevate a dishonest, impeached and corrupt crook named Ken Paxton. (Google him. This guy is terrible.) When the President of the United States happily backs a bad man and throws a good man overboard, it sends a horrible message to the next generation. This president continues to do moral and ethical damage to the nation that will be hard to undo. Not surprised. But still disappointed in where GOP voters are.

@DPYoungblood I don’t get to go to maybe 1-2 major league games a year. I don’t care what the park looks like. I’d love to watch them on a college field. I just enjoy the game. If I was going 20 times plus, then it could matter. But the AC wins. October baseball in the old field was awesome

@wallhawk Ignoring how it plays, I think Globe Life is a soulless, charmless park ... particularly compared to its predecessor. GLF feels like the product of a corporately organized focus group of casual/non baseball fans. It's a poor place to watch a game if baseball is your priority.

Can we trade Globe Life for Coors Field? I miss watching a team that can hit.

@DPYoungblood Been to Coors once and it wasn’t anything special. I love Globe Life in July and August But i do wish they’d make some adjustments with the fences. 6 years is enough time to show how it plays

@DPYoungblood In a small sample size yes. Every fantasy baseball pundit will tell you to sit SP that’s visiting Coors except for top 10-15 guys. Rockies offense is about as bad as it gets.
