@Snt_Mikael @MoFoxxies There's nothing wrong with using AI for fun to make things most people couldn't otherwise make. People have fun and you wouldn't even need to argue if people agreed with you by default. Demanding people learn niche high-end skills and/or invest thousands of hours is unreasonable.

That’s if you want a Pixar level masterpiece. The Backrooms just came out, directed by a 20 year old because he learned blender and had a passion for an idea 🤷♂️. I’m working on things that I know will take years to complete and I’m ok with that because I’m not expecting results within the hour.

So take the time to make it. If the idea is larger than your hands can build learn to do each part piece by piece and put it together once each part is perfected to your standard.
Ai has been an amazing litmus test for a variety of things, who does and doesn’t have patience anymore, people with fried dopamine receptors who can’t stand taking more than a week to finish a project, and those who don’t have fun doing or learning.
I can’t imagine the nightmare of ai 3d printing. We’ll be up to our necks in malformed plastic crap cause no one wants to take the time to learn CAD.

Your problem with AI is why it is so great and why your aunt and little kid neighbor can participate in content creation. People have ideas that are larger than their hands can build. I don't imagine in stick figures and flipbooks. I see a movie and that is what I want go make.

@FiadhBaikal There are artists out there taking commissions, well-known artists who charge a lot, and use AI to make the artwork. They just don't tell you that they're doing so.

He says that AI has the same value as any other art.
Would you pay for someone to do ai art for you?
Would you pay more if the picture looks more high quality?

It's not much different than saying people aren't allowed to study your drawings and eyeball it while drawing as a reference. People simply have a right to transformative art.

If they want to have stupid terms like that, which are unenforceable, that's their prerogative.

Once they've paid for it, particularly commissions, then it doesn't belong to you anymore, and the copyright holder, which is the person who bought the work from you, can do whatever they want with it.

Effective immediately: commissions are closed. Let me make this perfectly clear. Paying for my artwork does not grant permission to modify it through AI, feed it into AI tools, or transform it into AI-generated content. This boundary was communicated privately and respectfully. Continuing afterward is not ignorance, it is a conscious disregard of my consent as an artist. I will not educate adults on respecting artistic boundaries. I will complete the work I already committed to. After that, commissions move to a far more restricted format. Direct communication, personal approval, or rejection at my discretion. I’ve been patient long enough. Respect my work, my boundaries, and my consent as an artist or lose access to it.

The fact they can't see the irony here, is mind boggling. Imagine losing a commission because you won't look at a reference because the reference is AI. AI isn't hurting artists. Artists who act like this are hurting artists. It's self-destructive stubbornness.

Controversial topic: AI. I think most artists despise AI. This is pretty much clear. But we shouldn’t treat the people who USE AI like they are also slop. They might just be uneducated on how much trouble AI causes. Can we try something like this next time, artists?
