I think the people shouting “Jesus was a Palestinian” haven’t actually thought through their disinformation. Jesus was a Jew. If we push the Roman narrative back, then yes, he was also a “Palestinian,” because, inasmuch as anyone was “of Palestine,” it was Jews. It’s a different people who’ve recently taken the name “Palestinian” when Jews in their homeland reverted to their ancient name, Israel. So when you say “Jesus was a Palestinian,” you’re really saying “modern-day Palestinians aren’t actually connected historically to the land.”

@ScooterCasterNY @JodiVerse Be aware that the clipped version of this is being used to claim that the Rabbi is calling for ethnic cleansing. The full context shows he's talking about Israeli military success against terrorists. The end result of course is similar but the difference matters.

So why is Mastodon not a single website: Because if it was, it would be doomed to recreate all that you hate about the social media platforms you're trying to leave. Decentralizing the platform, building it on top of a protocol, is how it breaks the cycle.

Getting catcalled while wearing the mask/hat/sunglasses combo really drives home the fact that it’s never about what you’re wearing or look like but all about men wanting to instill fear and dominance over women
