@infantrydort I was part of the rescue force (White Element), my team mission was to search for American hostages on the second floor of the Ambassador's residence. I was in the EC-130E aircraft when the RH-53D helicopter crashed into us at Desert One.

@BlastingThrough @infantrydort I was in junior high at the time and I was a paper boy for the Washington Post (~65 subs). It was ~5:30 AM, but I remember slowing down to read about this while doing the usual Friday merge of the 'Weekend' section. I hated being a paper boy, but I had it easy. Thanks.
