The Southwest now has a mixing rate of between 25%-37% per generation. Which will break down clear ethnic group boundaries within 2-3 generations, producing a "spectrum." However, the language will remain English and the average Citizen of the Sun will be mostly euro ancestry

@Empty_America Assuming no further immigration. E.g., I would have guessed in 1980 that my San Fernando Valley would see a gradual admixture of whites, Hispanics, and East Asians. I didn't foresee the huge influx of Armenians, Russians, Israelis, Persians and other more endogamous immigrants

@Empty_America The American southwest, especially California, is attractive to people from all over the world. It's unrealistic to assume the rest of the world will leave Mexican-Americans in their current strong position in such a desirable destination.

@Empty_America For example, the northeastern San Fernando Valley used to be Mexican and the southeastern SFV white (especially Jewish). But now the central section is heavily Armenian and other Eurasians, stopping it its tracks what had once seemed like the inevitable Mexican demographic tide.

@Empty_America The Armenians and other groups who view Armenians as clever folks (Russians, Persians, Turks, etc.) decided that outcompeting Mexicans for desirable California real estate would be easy. So ,they put up huge security fences with lethal finials around their yards.
