Medieval Architecture in Historical Town of Tallinn, Estonia. Around 13th Century CE, Tallinn began to flourish with trade. Later, Tallinn joined Hanseatic League in 1285 CE and became a major member of organization. Increased wealth contributed to better and more discerning town planning, so much so that many of buildings, town hall, churches and merchant houses built during this period still stand today. Together, they capture ambience of a medieval northern European trading city for 21st Century visitors. Old Town of Tallinn was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. - Subscribe for Weekly Newsletter - archaeo-histories.beehiiv.com/?_gl=1*1dhkanl… #archaeohistories
