Sasori's decision turning himself into a puppet was just abnormal and stupid. Why would anyone want to be a puppet? Yeah, you'll be ageless but what the point if you can't savor the pleasures that make life worth living? A puppet can't eat or feel or even sleep. That's means no tasty food or women. Frankly speaking, that's a miserable existence.
