The video begins with deputies and the suspect’s vehicle pulled over on the side of the highway at Exit 11 near Highway 24 and Highway 243 near Townville. Investigators said the suspect was initially in the back of the deputy’s vehicle before attempting to escape. The dashcam video shows the moments after, when the suspect and deputies were struggling. The officers then used their tasers. The video shows the suspect making it back to his car, and that is when the shooting occurred. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Austin Robertson of Pennsylvania, died in the shooting. The injured deputy, Alex Albrech, was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital and was released a week later after undergoing several surgeries.
