Tariffs are bad for Americans and our economy, and the President does not have the authority to impose them. Don’t take my word for it – look at the Supreme Court’s ruling. It’s time to roll the harmful tariffs back and stop costs from continuing to rise.

2nd most votes behind Mr. Basketball and UK commit, Malachi Moreno. @DatDude_Z was the most complete player in KY HS basketball during the 2024-25 season. He was undeniable going to the rim, shot over 40% from 3 and has a deadly midrange game. Also one of the best lock down defenders in the state but that part of his game never got the attention it deserved.

Ashland’s Heartbreak at Rupp Look, if you’re an Ashland fan, I don’t blame you if you’re still sitting in your seat at Rupp Arena staring into the void. That was a gut-punch. A heartbreaker. The kind of loss that sits on your chest for a couple days. Ashland had it. I swear they had it. Let’s go back to the first quarter. Tyson LaLonde? That was him. Four threes in the first. Not one. Not two. FOUR. Just absolute FUEGO. He basically turned Rupp into a backyard shootaround. The Tomcats were vibing, the bench was up, fans were loud. It felt like we were going to witness the Ashland Sweet 16 Statement Game. Then... the moment. Zander Carter picked up his second foul. And if you were watching closely, you could feel it. The basketball gods shifted ever so slightly. Carter sits, and suddenly Bowling Green goes on a 10–3 run to close the half. From “Ashland’s in control” to “uh oh” in about three minutes of game time. Still, at halftime, the Tomcats held a lead. LaLonde had 14. Carter had 7 and 5 dimes. Caleb Clarke baptized two Bowling Green defenders with a baseline dunk that deserves its own TikTok edit. There was juice. There was hope. But the third quarter? That’s when it became The Deuce Bailey Show. This guy treated Ashland’s interior defense like it owed him money. Just relentless rim attacks. And yet Ashland wouldn’t go away. Carter, now freed from foul trouble, started to cook. Floaters, drives, spot-ups. He had 19 entering the fourth and was making plays that screamed I’m not ready for this to be over. Fast forward: 56 seconds left in regulation. Ashland leads 65–63. Barely hanging on. Every possession felt like a mini panic attack. Meanwhile, Bowling Green’s Idlett? Dude went 3-for-3 from deep like it was a shootaround at 8 a.m. Unreal. And despite Ashland doing everything in their power to close it out, it slipped away. Overtime. Momentum gone. Final score: Bowling Green 80, Ashland 74. And just like that... it’s over. But here’s where it really hits. Ashland says goodbye to three seniors: Tyson LaLonde, Zander Carter, and Preston Hoskins. Three dudes who bled maroon and white. Three dudes who showed up in big moments. Carter? He goes out with 33 points, 6 boards, and 7 assists. His final stat line reads like a mic drop. He leaves as the all-time leading scorer in Ashland history with 3,150 points—fourth all-time in the 16th Region. That’s not just a name in a record book. That’s a legacy. You don’t replace a Zander Carter. You honor him by remembering the moments - like tonight - when he carried a whole city on his back. So yeah, it hurts. Ashland’s season ends in overtime. But there’s pride here. There’s fire for next year. And there's a memory of when LaLonde caught fire, Clarke soared, and Carter gave every last ounce of what he had left. For Ashland fans, this one will sting. But it’s also one you’ll never forget.

Photo of the KHSAA State Tournament!! Our own Scott Arthur goes down to the “Sweet-16” every year to get us the best shots of the State Tournament and this year he may have got his best picture to date. Anyone that knows Ashland’s @DatDude_Z knows his connection to the Lord is extremely strong and he wears his faith on his sleeve but the entire State understands that now after this past week at Rupp. Scott Arthur captured a photo of Zander taking a quick second to read a few verses before his first round game at the KHSAA “Sweet-16”, Ashland would move on to win the game 81-64 over Calloway County but everyone across the Bluegrass was wanting to know more about Zander Carter after the photo started circulating. Long story short he’s made the State Tournament every year of his High School career, he is the 16th Region “Player of the Year” and he will be playing Division-1 Basketball at Liberty University next season. Pulling back the curtain a little, Zander is a God fearing Man that lives his life to serve the Lord and those he loves. Zander also takes time out of his busy life to help others around him try to achieve their dreams, he spends a lot of time giving back to his school and his community. We are extremely lucky to have Zander representing the Mountains on the big stage and we would say they’re is a very good chance you may see him in the “Big Dance” a few times over the next four years, we’re excited to see what you do with the gifts God has given you moving forward, Congratulations on an amazing career!! Ashland’s Zander Carter was also awarded the 2025 Larry Conley Ultimate Teammate Award during halftime of this morning’s semi-final game!

What a career for Zander Carter. Carters finishes the game with 33 points, 6 rebounds, & 7 assists. Liberty got a great human, and basketball player. His future is bright - the best basketball is still to come. @DatDude_Z
