We got our first @colosseum interview after Frontier. So here’s a quick update on what Axis has done since then. From hackathon submission to mainnet closed beta to Whitepaper v2 to launch readiness. Axis is moving from a hackathon project into a real protocol preparing for public launch. Not ETFs. DTFs. More soon.

Axis is not building ETFs. We’re building DTFs, DEX Traded Funds.

Huge thanks to @SuperteamJapan for the amazing time in Karuizawa. I had great discussions with people from financial institutions, enterprises, CVCs, and builders. One takeaway: JPY stablecoins should not be framed only as a payments problem. The real question is not “how do we make JPY available on-chain?” It is “what makes JPY economically useful on-chain?” If JPY becomes a low-cost funding currency, it could unlock new carry trades against USD stablecoin yield. That is where stablecoins become macro primitives. And that is very close to what we are building with Axis: making market theses tradable. Grateful for all the conversations.

Future of Onchain FX & Carry Markets 1/ A thought experiment: What happens when JPY stablecoins become widely adopted onchain? Most people assume USD stablecoins win everything. I’m not so sure.

ACE maximalism feels a bit naive to me. It assumes that giving token holders equity access is automatically good, but I think that misses how equity returns actually work. Fundraising is not a one-time event. A company may raise multiple rounds, bring in strategic investors, optimize for M&A, IPO, secondary sales, or long-term control. Different stakeholders have different endgames. If you put a large number of small, poorly understood investors onto the cap table too early, even through a structure that looks compliant, it can still create friction for future financing, governance, diligence, and exit paths. So I don’t think the question is “can this be done?” The real question is: Does this make the company more financeable, more acquirable, and more likely to generate actual equity returns? If not, then it may be philosophically appealing but practically harmful.
