How dare we let the stars taunt us their unattainability with beautiful, humbling blinking. Do we humans have no self-respect? I can't help but be a romantic for this galactic diplomacy: space colonization. We anthropological ethicists have this cognitive dissonance: the beauty of humans deserve the stars, yet we don't have an egalitarian Earth because within anthropology, the molecular is of a gradient of inherent ability, while the cultural is of moral diversity. We cannot smuggle in egalitarian assumptions as metaphysical facts. Maybe a critic of mine would respond "Isn't that just egoism?" But why must that be pathological? There is a human-universal, evolutionary, genetic-deterministic drive. The divergence of man was and is differentiated by a gradient of strength and power. Genetic clustering manifesting as civilizations reproductively survived on that "egoism" through group-support. Within this egocentrism, there is morality.
