@GenTXer2 Fantastic album. Although it’s their 3rd album it was the 1st to be commercially successful. I remember when I first heard this album it sounded like nothing I’d heard before. They began a run of 4 great albums with this one. Absolutely love it.
70s Song I Love 💕
Manfred Mann’s Earth Band “Blinded By The Light”
My brain knows it’s “revved up like a deuce” but my ears hear “wrapped up like a douche”
(recommended by my friend @AlphenMatthias)
@RockNRoLL_85 One of the all time best live albums. The most amazing thing is at the time it may have seemed like he was at his peak but yet he had such an incredible amount of great music yet to come.
@GenTXer2 Night At The Opera - Queen followed by Tapestry - Carole King and Parallel Lines - Blondie. If your Seger choice was Night Moves then that would be highest for me.
@GenTXer2 I’d say Deep Purple Machine Head is the biggest omission as it’s an absolutely iconic and hugely influential album. My personal choice would be Joe Jackson Look Sharp. Exodus, Montrose, Tres Hombres, Billion Dollar Babies would all make my list.
RECAP: These are albums that DID NOT make my Top 70 Albums Of The 70s list.
Which ONE album was my biggest OVERSIGHT? 🤔
(attached are previous albums that also did not make my list)
@GenTXer2@BillsTVTalk Love this album. This album was all over the airwaves back in the day and the videos were in heavy heavy rotation on MTV. Fond memories of seeing tons of their videos in the student lounge in college.
My morning album with ☕️
Huey Lewis & The News: Sports (1983)
This album is so familiar that I know which song is coming up next.

@GenTXer2 Great choice. Seems almost mandatory to include one of their albums in your top 70. For me I’d agree this is probably their best overall album from the 70s.
@GenTXer2 No!!! I actually don’t mind the song. Despite the total cheesiness the vocal/harmonies are good and it’s catchy. Disco Duck” by Rick Dees is probably my choice or “The Streak” by Ray Stevens. Duck is completely unlistenable while Streak was at least sort of funny the first time.
@RobertM74696168@GenTXer2@supr__dave Should’ve seen him years ago but saw him for the 1st time fall 2025. Great concert one of the funnest and most entertaining I’ve been too. He put on a great performance and had the audience spellbound and singing along word for word most songs.
This will make up for me missing him in high school. I was going to go with a group to see him at the start of the Into The Fire tour in Charleston WV. They moved they date back a couple days because I think he got to add a second show at Madison Square Garden. I had to work the date of the rescheduled show and missed out on that one.
@GenTXer2 This one surprised me a bit. It’s a great album and I love Bob Seger but it doesn’t make my top 70. “Night Moves” on the other hand is at least top 30 for me perhaps higher.
