Just switched a project over to use @useblacksmith for our GitHub actions, pretty nice speed improvement

@leeerob I like to symlink the Downloads folder to the Desktop, forces me to keep it tidy: rm -rf ~/Downloads && ln -s ~/Downloads ~/Desktop (might need sudo on macOS)

Just did a fresh macOS install — writing down what I set up: • Superhuman: fast email client • Ghostty: super fast terminal • Neovim: default editor • Raycast: better spotlight • CleanShot X: better screenshot tool • Notion: work notes + calendar • Chrome: default browser • 1Password: best password manager • Spotify: my music hub • Screenflow: lightweight video capture + editor • Screen Studio: another nice video tool The usual web dev stuff: homebrew, node, pnpm, bun. Here's my current neovim plugins: #L739-L770" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/leerob/vim-for… I use zsh (default on macOS) with some customizations in my .zshrc, but pretty minimal to keep startup fast. There's a few macOS defaults I change: • Remap caps lock to escape • mkdir ~/Developer (it has a fancy icon in finder!) • Faster keyboard repeats • defaults write -g InitialKeyRepeat -int 15 • defaults write -g KeyRepeat -int 1 • Show hidden files in finder • defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES That's it! Anything I'm missing? 👀

@alxhnt It still blows my mind it isn't just default behaviour, tab behaviour is half broken everywhere without it

Morning rant: Using System Settings on a new Mac with a keyboard only. where I can't navigate out of the sidebar to get to the "Full Keyboard Access" option, which isn't enabled by default. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Fixed with a `defaults write` command in terminal, to finally reach Bluetooth settings 😑

@farazKhan404 Disclaimer: haven't properly played with it myself yet, but next project I'd like to consider using it (probably in a serverless context)

You’re building a TypeScript API in 2023 * What framework are you using? * Where are you deploying it? * What tooling do you see as essential?

@mmatuzo Can't live without it now. My workflow is to always build components in Storybook first, integrate into app later. Forces a clear separation of concerns and gives you some pretty sweet options for testing (e.g. Storyshots, Loki)

This resonates with me quite a lot. But instead of second guessing the modern web, I never was convinced of this in the first place. Still guilty of trying to force the shiny new toys onto some applications. macwright.org/2020/05/10/spa…
