Pitino has had UK, UofL, Johnny’s all to Sweet 16 within 3 seasons. Guy simply wins everywhere while his peers are too old and brittle to stay relevant.

@CardChronicle I like PK a lot, but I can’t imagine an offense built around taking 30+ 3’s winning 6 games in March. Team doesn’t get easy, high % looks on offense. Say nothing of the defensive lapses. Important offseason on actually competing when it matters.

Winning the first one against someone you were supposed to beat and losing the second one to someone you were supposed to lose to has felt like the only possible end to this season for about two months now. Doesn't make it sting any less.

@aaront1922 Everything shifted about 20 years ago. It has become heavily Indianapolis centric. A kid from South Bend with a state title and an elite resume did not make the team, while a kid from Indy who played fewer than 10 games and averaged under 10 points did. That is hard to justify.

Since 2010 there have been 12 boys and 12 girls from southwestern indiana selected to the Indiana All Star teams. combined that is 6% out of 408 players. from an area that represents 20% of the state. The talent is here. The rest of the state doesn’t recognize it.
