I’m a white British woman. 😮 I don’t feel any shame for anything that has happened before I was born, in terms of colonialism. Nor do I think we should pay reparations for things that happened centuries ago, or give away territory to ‘make amends’. I don’t believe we should try and change history by getting rid of historical figures from bank notes, banning books, films , and tearing down statues. If you hate our country, emigrate.
