Pastor Nourredine Benzid, former General Secretary of the Evangelical Protestant Church of Algeria, testified before the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom on January 13, 2026. He built a thriving 600-member church in Tizi Ouzou. Algeria shut it down. Raided it. Sealed it. Then came years of surveillance, interrogations, and court summons.
