The people in this thread complaining about Myles being a 'chore' might as well get their heads checked at once. Literature has had few practitioners as adept and playful as Flann the man and I'd say you've probably been lingering in some very dull and wearisome tomes too long.

@TheEsteemedFox I read almost everything he wrote in grad school. I was told I’d love it. Now that I’m 53, I can admit I didn’t like any of it at all.
