@Rothmus That’s a brilliant idea! They really could give back for all they have taken from us. How do we pass this bill?

Okay. I had ChatGPT use my ideas and put it all together to see how I'd like that bench redone. Before and after. I like how, uninstructed, it took out my paint supplies and put some flowers and a lantern there, all of it's own volition.

I can’t tell you how much I hate potlucks. I don’t want to eat any of the food anybody else is bringing. My husband & I never can agree on what I should make. Whatever I end up cooking always costs $50-$80. I have no idea how to transport it. Why do we have to keep doing this.

When did going to the ER become a thing when you have a bad stomach flu? I'm not knocking it, probably fluids would have helped me plenty of times with this sickness but I never heard of anyone going to the ER for it until the last couple years and now it seems relatively common?

@handmadeshoesia My son had a bacterial infection in his eye. He was hospitalized and put on intravenous antibiotics. I warned him about making everyone wash their hands and glove in his presence because of what I had seen in the ER. He didn’t take me seriously. They gave him MRSA in his eye.

@AEzMimi I also believe in hospitals for acute care only, and even then I've heard too many stories about catching something scary from the hospital 😬😬 (though I do include birth in that list mainly because I've heard too many stories where acute care becomes necessary in birth)

@Batenswytch It’s beautiful! We had a big place before moving. I might miss some parts of the house and gardens but then I remember we never could leave for more than a day at a time. Now I have a small yard and house but I have a life.

GUYS. Look at the old back porch. THIS is the only thing I miss about that place, but I'll have the current one up to snuff in time.

In better news, the kids have asked if for Christmas, we'd help build them a smol front yard to keep the horses out of the flowers and off the front deck. Daughter wants a headboard for a front gate, an arbor and climbing roses. I told her they can set the gate NOW, and we can

What is the boy mom equivalent of finding dresses strewn all over the house and hair elastics on every surface?

✝️ My heart is so heavy. 😭 Tyler the young man with brain cancer was taken to Heaven last night. The angels are rejoicing. Ruth, his mother was thankful that he went quickly with no pain. The doctors were not sure why this happened so suddenly. But everything is in God’s timing. Please pray that God comforts her through the grieving. I told her that she took such good care of him. Now Jesus gets to take care of him. 🫂

My thoughts after 3 months in the US/Texas🇺🇸: - Americans are way more extroverted than Europeans - Talking to strangers is normal here - My first H-E-B trip felt like Boris Yeltsin seeing an American grocery store - Some food is more artificial, but the amount of choices is insane - You can still eat healthy. You just have to choose it - High risk, high reward is real - Way more people are entrepreneurial - People dream bigger than in Europe, and they actually execute - Obv not everyone is smarter, but the smart people are world-class - Successful people here are way more down-to-earth. In Europe, successful people care about status and can be arrogant - Cars. Enough said - Americans have perfected artificial sweets - There’s still more freedom here than in Europe - One thing I didn’t expect: some Americans talk down on America - As an outsider, that’s weird, because imo it’s still the greatest country on Earth🇺🇸🇺🇸

@AEzMimi Try ordering Rorberson's spices from Amazon, lol. They bankrupt you.

Ate a Missipi Mud Roast with Jalapeño and cheese mash and it was so delicious, I had to try it. Found a pork butt in the freezer and made it on the same basis with my own South African twist. It was delicious. I think American home cooking is going to suit me just fine 😊

@AEzMimi I use the spices and herbs over here. Can't keep buying super expensive South African spices from Amazon.

@AEzMimi She used chicken stock, ranch seasoning, acorn peppers and half a stick of butter. I used pork spice, beef stock, chilly powder, bell peppers and onions. Left the butter for the mash potato.

@viking_boer Just so excited to welcome immigrants into our country that want to be Americans. We haven’t experienced that kind of people en masse in my lifetime.

As an Afrikaner Boer soon heading to America with my family, I see it clearly: Afrikaners and Americans are true cultural cousins. Same pioneer blood. Same frontier spirit. Great Trek meets the Wild West. We braai (you BBQ), live by our Bibles, raise strong kids, and fight for freedom against distant rulers. Calvinist roots, rugged faith, and God’s provision through every trial. To my American brothers & sisters: We’re coming with grateful hearts, hard work, and the same values. Drop a 🇿🇦❤️🇺🇸 if you feel the kinship. Welcome your Boer cousins home! #AfrikanerToAmerica #KindredSpirits #FaithAndFreedom #MAGA
