This is one of those moments you truly want to share, given its profound personal and professional significance. Receiving an invitation to present at Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2026 — the largest and most prestigious radiology congress in the world — is an immense honor. For a musculoskeletal radiologist from a relatively small and geographically distant country like Chile, this opportunity carries a special sense of pride and gratitude. I am deeply thankful to RSNA @RSNA for the trust and confidence. I will do my best to contribute, even in a small way, to the success of this edition. I will also be participating as a speaker in the module organized by the Colegio Interamericano de Radiología (CIR) during the congress. See you in Chicago.

I always laugh and or scratch my head when I see an MRI knee report on a patient with DJ D and the leading impression talks about the types of meniscus tears. When the patient basically has tricompartmental DJD... to me, that demonstrates a level of ignorance, lack of understanding on the part of the radiologist.

What specific terminology can I put in an MRI, CT or x-ray report of the knee, that will stop/prevent a fraudulent surgeon from performing a sham arthroscopy/sham "cleanup procedure" on a patient with OA who will basically be getting a TKA shortly after. What can I say that will prevent reimbursement? MRI report basically says tricompartmental osteoarthritis/DJD or something similar? I presume that flags something for insurance companies?

@northwoods1980 Xray understimate displacement And Also by definition waist fractures are unstable!

I don't know about you guys but I find it very common that radiologist will call this non-displaced, estimate 2 mm displacement --underestimating. Then, same day CT shows 5 mm displacement.

The Essex-Lopresti injury is a rare but serious forearm condition resulting from high-energy axial trauma. It consists of: Radial head fracture – often comminuted Interosseous membrane disruption – leading to longitudinal forearm instability Distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) dislocation or subluxation This triad causes significant longitudinal instability. Delayed treatment may lead to chronic instability, ulnocarpal impaction, and severe functional impairment. Surgical management—including radial head replacement, interosseous membrane reconstruction, and TFCC reinsertion at the fovea in this case—can help restore near-normal radioulnar stability and load transmission.
