Today our team traveled to the Walmart Home offices in Bentonville. We attended a workshop with local news media, emergency management, county judges and National Weather Service personnel. One of the main topics of discussion was the devastating tornadoes in May, 2024 across northwest Arkansas. We also discussed future techniques to increase warning time for the public and how to better assist communities after a severe weather disaster. @ARWXnetwork I’m a little late, but I wanted to thank you for your coverage last Sunday. Thank you for staying on even through severe storms. Thanks to you we knew what was coming and had time to get the dogs, cats and us in our safe place.

Today our team traveled to Batesville, Arkansas to discuss severe weather. The Independence County Alliance meeting invited us to join local fire chiefs and county OEM officials to discuss severe weather preparedness. What is one weather related event in Arkansas you will never forget? The Arkansas Division of Emergency Management invited us to visit their headquarters on Camp Robinson today. We discussed how to better serve Arkansas residents before, during and after a severe weather event. Of course, we chatted significant weather events that have impacted our team in the past. ADEM also provided us with a tour of their operations center and how our state handles hazardous events. Thank you so much for the invitation, our team is better equipped to serve this state after today!
