CA is *not* immune to the extremist hate directed at LGBTQ people. Last night, bigots rioted against LGBTQ people in Glendale. A drag queen we honored in the Legislature was demonized. A school district banned teaching of Harvey Milk. We’re fighting for our lives everywhere.

We have ~a week until our state budget deadline. We do not yet have confirmation that the State will help transit systems avoid massive, devastating service cuts. A huge coalition of labor, business, housing, transit & enviro orgs is asking the State to prevent this disaster.

🧵The CA public transit budget situation continues to be alarming CA transit faces a fiscal cliff that, if not solved, will lead to devastating service cuts Yet, the Governor’s budget proposal slashes transit funding & the proposal advancing in the Legislature is problematic ⬇️

The current budget proposal contains no solution for the impending transit fiscal cliff that’ll lead to huge service cuts. Former Deputy Executive Officer at the CA Air Resources Board: “The State cannot meet its climate & air quality goals if transit falls into a death spiral.”
