All right, she couldn’t exactly rush off and risk falling flat on her face either! Come now! Elizabeth grabbed her older sister’s hand and dashed inside the house, where they both soon took refuge. She couldn’t wait any longer, so she urged her sister to speak, —

Lizzy gently squeezed her older sister’s hand and was immediately overwhelmed by the warmth that only she could give her. She shook her head. “ Unfortunately not, but everyone’s talking about her. Even some sort of gossip column doing the rounds in town . . . ” She paused, —

Elizabeth tilted her head, a faint smile playing on her lips. She shrugged. “ Perhaps . . . or perhaps not, it depends on your point of view. Would you find Mr Darcy boring? ”

And just like that, Lizzy’s thoughts were drawn back to Darcy, yet again. It was almost instinctive; she couldn’t quite tell whether she liked it or not. “ As usual? I suppose . . . he’s always Mr Darcy. Nothing more and nothing less. ”
