Appalled by @Telegraph article on lived experience posts - mental health care needs big changes to achieve acceptable, consistent quality. Senior LE input essential to challenge us all, drive change. Also central if we are to do research that's relevant to changing care.

@robkendrick53 I see it thru a different lens @robkendrick53. I don’t think that the expertise, wisdom that comes from LEx should be relegated to free labour, as u imply. LEx can be incredibly transformative to services & patients- why not be valued equally to comparative NHS directors?

@AbbieFutter It's one thing to have first hand experience given voluntarily but ridiculous to have a director on a 6 figure salary . Think what could be done for say volunteer support groups with that money.

To see the worth and value of lived experience roles (specifically) discredited and used as journalistic fodder is saddening. Sending strength and support to all those in LEx roles, showing up every day to create better and fairer services for others. We see you 💙

The Health & Care Bill is back in the Commons tmrw. It divides the NHS into 42 areas led by Integrated Care Boards which - incredibly - private companies will be allowed to sit on. I believe private companies should *never* get a say in how the NHS is run. Pls RT if you do too
