-Then Triple H and co decided who they're gonna cut to reach that number
All i know is Triple H isn't innocent when it comes to these releases.

@fiago7 Uhh, Vegas Golden Knights were the new closest team to Salt Lake City in 2017. So many people in the area adopted the Knights as their team. And then out of nowhere, Utah surprisingly got a team in 2024. So everyone obviously switched allegiance to the new local team

Never in my life will I understand the concept of changing your team. But I guess Americans are never real fans of any sports team, they are fans of their city and that‘s fair. Just a completely different mentality.

I haven’t been following NXT but I assume they’ve signed new folks on there as well. And it was just a matter of cutting X dollars

@jimmyvan I imagine they are looking at ROI/efficiency, meaning their contracts were much bigger than other midcarders on the roster that they believe could give a similar impact. Not saying they are right, I don’t think many of the released people in the current round were booked properly

Any talent departure makes for crappy news but I’m especially puzzled about Aleister, Zelina and Kairi. All were prominently featured on television pretty regularly. I understand the TKO mindset but it’s odd to me that Hunter couldn’t use his influence to keep them in the fold.

@TheRajGiri I don’t know a business that doesn’t evaluate budget on an annual and/or quarterly basis. I think the weird thing with WWE is that we are used to athletes being treated differently where they don’t get cut, their contracts go to expiry in the offseason.

I really thought that mass releases were a thing of the past when Vince McMahon was outed.
I get that releases are part of the wheel that keeps turning. But is it a better to do a giant batch of releases every year, or just release talent throughout the year as needed?
