@kim_kfischer120 The kids loved the letters. I even saw one of our fifth graders tear up as he read his letter. These act of kindness make a huge difference.

A7: #VCSGreatTeachers I used to do Random Acts of Kindness with my st. and their families. They had to complete around ten random acts around the community and then write about them. I also think our letters during testing, was a schoolwide way to promote a caring enviro.

A7: Actively listen to them and hear what they have to say. I want to know why they do what they do. It helps me to know them better and how I can help support them to achieve academically or even in life. #VCSGreatTeachers

A6: Student achievement is both academics and social behavior. Focusing on both is a win win! #VCSGreatTeachers

A6: #VCSGreatTeachers Do you want us to teach the test or teach students? Those are two totally different things. I think when we talk about "our school", we should discuss so much more than test scores.

A5: #VCSGreatTeachers I have not done this. I think we all need to visit others rooms at one point throughout the year- everyone has something to share. Superstar teachers may have more to "steal".

A5: Modeling for others comes easier with time; however, I still LOVE watching others teach. I learn so much from watching others. #VCSGreatTeachers

@ambrosio_SLP I don’t think any of us anticipated the challenges of the stairs. I think they are one of our greatest nemesis.

A8: In the old building I was very intentional in my transitions through the hallway and entering/exiting my room. That crumbled a bit in the new school because....stairs 😆 I need to reset that expectation day 1! #VCSGreatTeachers

A8: I feel like I always have a data driven plan for interventions; however, I would like to be more intentional and data driven this year in my coaching. #VCSGreatTeachers

A7: If we embrace the mindset described as never needing to repair, then we will less frequently need to repair. It’s also a win-win because we would be modeling the correct character traits for our students and colleagues. #VCSGreatTeachers

A6: We can flip the narrative by spreading all the good that happens in our school on our social media and not responding to those who are spreading the negative. #VCSGreatTeachers

A5: I ❤️ the phrase “Perception can become reality.” If you approach each day with the mindset that it is going to be the best day ever and stay focused on that mindset, it is more likely to happen. Everyone should embrace each day like it will be the best! #VCSGreatTeachers

Clean praise is challenging and takes a conscious effort! I wonder if we can come up with a phrase or picture we can all post in our classrooms as a reminder! #VCSGreatTeachers

Q4: I think I’m pretty good at immediate praise. I think my most challenging would be clean praise. I am the type that wants to attach something to it or have a reason for giving the praise. I need to work on this. #VCSGreatTeachers
