Creating good work for disabled people should be at the heart of government policy. This came a step closer yesterday with the inaugural meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Good Work for Disabled People, which I chaired. As part of our work we will be convening a Stakeholder Advisory Board to ensure the lived experience of disabled people is central to what we do. Access to Work is only treasury funded programme that has sustainability helped to reduce the disability employment gap. By funding Access to Work and administering it properly you would get hundreds of thousands of disabled people off the waiting list for it, actually in work.

@UKLabour Fixing Access to Work will only help you achieve your goal of getting more disabled people in work. 62,000 people are on a waiting list. You already have a solution, it just needs more funding and to be administered properly.

Labour is investing £167 million to help sick and disabled people get back into the workplace.
