Any guitar friends here ever use a Variac, a la Eddie Van Halen, to be to crank your amp at a lower volume? If so, what were your thoughts? And could a Variac be used not only with my 1983 Marshall 50 watt JCM800 half stack but also my '67 Fender Deluxe?
