It’s really like ‘guys, what are we doing here? Are we running the same stuff as before? Are we still on the same page? @AdamTaylorNBA He had two drives last night where he tried to finesse a layup around the defender and missed both. Idc about the result just the process. If he continues to do that, that’s good. Again downhill driving and drawing fouls don’t have to be directly correlated.

Last night is the first night, Tatum just didn’t look confident to me. He’ll be better next game, the shot volume needs to go up tho imo. Can’t be taking 14 shots a game, we need more from Tatum. I want to see more downhill pressure and finishing. Draw fouls!! #DifferentHere

@GuardUrYard I agree on the driving, but I'm not sold on the value of the foul drawing outside of in the rhtym of the game.

@AdamTaylorNBA Like I said I expect his shot diet to be jump shot heavy. He is working his way back into a rhythm. For me to want him to drive a little more, try to increase is free throw attempts with the remaining games we have isn’t a bad thing. Just an indication of improvement

@GuardUrYard His game has never been predicated on drawing fouls through finesse (nor bully drives).
But generally, unless you're veer stepping after beating your man, the best way to draw fouls is via bully drive.
Tatum is better working up to that and just attacking open lanes.

@AdamTaylorNBA To say I want to see more downhill pressure, drawing fouls doesn’t mean bully driving to the rim 😂. He can drive downhill and not draw contact, they can be mutual exclusive. He can draw fouls through finesse…

@GuardUrYard One of the last things to come back will be trust in his body. He's played 7 games. Expecting him to be bully-driving to the rim, exploding and drawing fouls at this early stage is the ridiculous part.
Let him work his way back to that.

@AdamTaylorNBA He's recovered from an Achilles Injury. I understand that the shooting splits are going to favor jump shots, but to say that the last resort is to drive and/or draw fouls is a little ridiculous. The feel is still coming back, I'm not expecting him to be Tatum of 25.
