Her daycare director (and by now a personal friend) just texted me to say she was running to the store, and what were 3’s favorites, she’d throw together a special lunch for “our sweet baby”. And now I’m crying for a whole different reason. #ItTakesAVillage

Working parents… ever have a tears down your cheek in the car on your way to work kind of day? This morning I forgot to pack a “special lunch” for 3’s picnic day. And yes, she is very aware when she is left out of things…but my clinic day is packed. I felt like a failure, but

Most minors who need abortion care involve their parents (and want them involved) if it’s safe and right for them to do so. Forcing it doesn’t repair damaged relationships between youth and their guardians, and judicial bypass has harm. #SAHM23

The AAP’s new center for media use will focus on reframing this narrative. Consider social media use as developmentally appropriate, connection, relieving, and a place where they take risks. Consider it like driving, it has risks but helps teens get somewhere. #SAHM23

Did you know higher exposure of crops to CO2 decreases the nutrient content of crops? I did not! Climate health is kids’ health. #SAHM23 (Rise in food insecurity attributable to lots of reasons including climate change, COVID pandemic, war in Ukraine, supply chain)

Why is climate health, kids health? See below. For 3 summers the air quality in Seattle was so poor we couldn’t go outside for weeks. Not the reason for our move, but a contributor. #SAHM23

After posting that pic of Richard Feynman and y'all proceeding to inform me he's a creep, I asked for unproblematic men in science to celebrate who made monumental contributions to the field. Y'all said "it's just Carl Sagan"🥴I'm gonna try this again so we can make a list. WHO??

@ravenscimaven @aspyre I believe many historians now believe Newton was neurodivergent in some way, but that would not have been diagnosed in those days and certainly wouldn’t have been understood… some behaviors just recorded as asshole-ness because they were misunderstood.

@aspyre my college physics professor dedicated an entire lecture to reasons why Newton, in his opinion, was an asshole

Eating Disorders pro tip: don’t use (or say!) “ideal body weight”. Use estimated treatment goal weight based on prior growth trajectory. Yep, some folx should have weight goals well above the median BMI. #SAHM2023

Bias check #2- people in large bodies can be malnourished, have ED’s (in fact are at higher risk), and at risk for refeeding syndrome. #SAHM2023
