@paultowell @Teamgrassroots_ I was going to say this, I think training gear should be there bare minimum, we don't do it for a wage but having to then spend our ontop of the time you give is a bit off.

@Teamgrassroots_ I coach grassroots and would not expect to be paid. However I still pay subs (which I’m happy to do) but I also have to provide my own team branded training gear which to me isn’t right. I’m being hit with higher costs than other parents for being a volunteer coach.

@Paul37807182531 @TWFootball1867 Problem is with Palmer its not just a lapse in concentration he is constantly off the pace, doesn't work hard to get blocks in doesn't track his runners he's always to far forward in a back 3, he isn't the player who should captain this side ** He is however a really decent kid

@TWFootball1867 Thing is, these things happen. Remember when worthington didn’t move off the post against Man Utd. A lapse of concentration can’t always be as dramatic as a longer term toxic culture driven from the top.

I have just faced watching the Norwich game back. The first goal really is a tough watch. To turn your back like that, assumingly to turn and shout at others, before it has gone in and over comes back off the bar, is terrible optics. It says a lot about the season, but I suspect it is also symptomatic of a longer term toxic culture driven from the top. We do need a full, full clearout of everything and to start again. The danger is to do it on -15 risks a lot.

@coach_kevin_m I think it's a good subject and one that other parents need to hear, they don't understand what the manager/coaches child has to deal with in comparison to there child in the team.

So many coaches are being vulnerable, open, and honest in this thread. This is a subject that is rarely talked about.

@coach_kevin_m I coach both my boys u9 and u12, I find that I'm harshest on them to prove there is no favouritism, even though they work as hard as anyone on the pitch for me. I started to take them places, training etc early so they got time with just there dad first before I become coach

Do you coach your own child? What's the hardest part? I've done it. I know the challenges. The line between parent and coach is harder than people think.

@swfcscout TBF is this when cooper gave ball away up the pitch and Palmer was way up the pitch as per too, leaving him as the sole defender? Or was this a different one. I wasn't a fan at first but he's almost defended on his own today at times.
