11 mile walk round Sandwich town and Sandwich Bay today @Sandwichbirdobs best bits were 2 Sedge Warblers, Swallow, Yellow Wagtail and Firecrest. Worth looked ripe for migrants, I only found a Ruff, but there were plenty birds around.

@MarcHeathym007 @KentishPlover Hi Marc, I’ve always used 10x never had any problems finding stuff, although, I’m guessing the 8x and wider field of view might help in say woodland, but 10’s give you extra, when looking across reservoirs etc..

Looking into getting some new binoculars, probably the Hawke Frontier ED range. I normally get the 8x43 model but was looking at the 10x42 model as well. Would the 10x model be too much for birding? Are many using 10x for birding? @HuntBarry65 @KentishPlover

Great 30 minutes on patch this morning adding 2 patch year ticks, first a Redshank not common here, then Mark found an Avocet! only the 3rd record for the site, it remained until the afternoon. The patch list is now at 85 for the year.
