From the 2nd day on the Tannenberg battlefield following German I Reserve Corps drive into the Russian right flank at Grieslinen (Gryzliny) and the joining of the German I and XVII Corps at Willenburg (Wielbark) that sealed the fate of Samsonov's Russian Second Army

First chance to post on the Poland trip. Day 1 covering WWII around Gdansk with a visit to Westerplatte and the excellent WWII Museum.

Joint National Trust, Salonika Campaign Society service of Remembrance today at Sandham Memorial Chapel. Thanks to the National Trust team for organising the event, Rev Mark Christian for officiating and those SCS members attending.

RBL Field of Remembrance outside Westminster Abbey was opened on Thursday 7 November by the Duchess of Gloucester. It was, as always, a privilege to represent the Salonika Campaign Society, commemorating those who lost their lives serving with the British Salonika Force.

Day two of the @SalonikaCmpnSoc battlefield tour. Very much enjoyed visiting the Struma Valley for the first time and talking about the development of Anglo-Greek relations in 1918.

I'm reporting back to the Society's AGM on Saturday. Look forward to your contribution to the journal next year and hope you will maintain links with the SCS.

Heading back to the UK after a great week touring the Macedonian Front and I am incredibly grateful to the @SalonikaCmpnSoc for enabling this through awarding me the inaugural Philip Barnes Bursary.
