Neither Mamdani nor Khan are “Muslim mayors”, they are simply mayors. Mayors that govern the two most diverse cities on Earth. Their personal faith has absolutely nothing to do with their work and their support of the LGBTQ community. Not all of us are pathetic homophobes!

The strange thing about posts like this is the assumption that a Muslim politician can’t support both his faith and the rights of LGBT people.
Sadiq Khan going on Hajj doesn’t obligate him to oppose Pride any more than a Christian pilgrimage obligates someone to oppose people they disagree with.
Living in a diverse society means respecting the freedom of others, not demanding that everyone share your beliefs.
