I don't think it'll be one of those "The Village" reveals, but I do wonder if it'll turn out that with the pact, civilization somewhat regressed technologically, too. Keeping them trapped with a limited set of spells maintains civilization frozen in a state easily "governable."

that one big valaeron fic that has really angsty baekar in the background and for once making me think maybe it's better for them to go separate ways for the ending 😭 specially for maekar, who has grown as a character without/despite baelor. incredible work there.
