There is a new awakening. A new productive, inventive and optimistic American spirit. It is searing through the cosmos like a mythic flame whirling out from the void. This our 250th year will be the most powerful year and most prosperous year of the Republic. A return to nobility and an acceleration towards our mighty destiny… Prometheus is the archetypal American hero. He is the great individualist of the steppes and the prairies. He is the first civilizer of the old city states. He liberates the spirit and fecundity stored within nature. The cowboy, the astronaut, the composer, the industrialist, the technologist. The one who breaks through the bigotries and the ideologies. The paragon of Manifest Destiny. The one who does not kneel to states or kings. He is the primordial freedom seeker and the first craftsman. He forges power into all his works, both beautiful and terrible. His is the soul who will endure any ordeal in order that his creations as his children may be free. He looks out across the horizon and carries Man’s triumphant will and genius on ahead of us into the dark. He is the undaunted the self sovereign. He is the cunning and the forward moving. The soul of the West is the Promethean soul. It is the soul which does not kneel, which does not renege on his own triumphant nature. Behind the destroyer is the creator. Behind the blasphemer is the lover of life. In the new age, Prometheus ignites the newly awakened belief in a tomorrow and an after-tomorrow, opens a golden gate of prescience of a future of adventure, of seas open once more, and aims once more permitted and believed in. He ignites in us to divest ourselves of all averageness and mediocrity. What is now behind us - this tract of desert, of unbelief, of exhaustion, of fragility in the midst of youth. 2026 marks the age of a tyranny of pride, art and industry to repudiate the epoch of obsequiousness, insipidness, servility, dishonor, counterfeit and larceny. The age of the contempt for Mankind has detonated and ruptured. Our new Promethean age will condition all ages after it as marked by a reverence for this heroism. Above the ocean fog, a flame in a fennel stalk of gleaming bronze. A lightning rod for our noble destiny, where ages and ages hence the youth of our people will be struck by the effervescent truth of their own undeniable beauty and power. They will wind through the halls of the Agora and see the vitality of the heroic creators of the past, of the Western champions. They will come to understand the ordeal and the overcoming as those pioneers and forerunners did also. The American person will no longer “philosophize” with defects and ailments, but instead with his riches. He is the master of transfiguration into the more muscular, the more noble, the more ingenious. He is the reconciliation that we can no longer separate body and soul. His thoughts and deeds must be continually born to this world out of his spirit and pain. He gives all that he has into this world of spirit, ardor, joy, passion, pang, conscience, fate and fatality. We commemorate these is great riches as heroically won in the fashion of Promethean ordeal and splendor, a flame which burn hotter than the lightning. Our Promethean age will be the fullest, most sovereign, and the most powerful age of human history. We honor the American People. Man Also Rises.

There is no paradox. It was never Apollonian at all. Far away disembodied abstractions are not what describe the province of the industrious, truth-uncovering West. The West is the province of a vitalized, Promethean Dionysius - sending Cartesian duality, its Apollonian abstractions and a chaos-free, hermetically sealed cosmos into the crusher. Promethean Dionysius has always been the locomotion of the West.

"One must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star", said Nietzsche. Musk, with his Calvinist South African upbringing, his hyper-rational engineering mind, his titanic will, his messianic sense of solitary mission -------- appears to be the latest version of the uniquely Western Apollonian self. Everyone thinks he is merely "solving problems," "making humanity multi-planetary," "accelerating truth-seeking," "eliminating poverty". But the Dionysian is screaming in everything he does, in the phallic rockets, his purchase of X with its chaos, the compulsive breeding, 14 children, the 80-hour weeks, the public meltdowns. Nietzsche did sense that the Dionysian never died. But Nietzsche's dominant tone was still condemnation of the Western suppression of the Dionysian, the bourgeois "last man," the democrat, the contemporary "gregarious, docile European". Nietzsche did not want to admit that the same Apollonian West that produced modern Newtonian science and technology, had also produced the pagan Renaissance, the Baroque, the Romantic revolt...punk anarchy, and countless works of postmodern apocalypse art, where ecstasy and destruction reclaim the repressed. The paradox in need of explanation is how the invention of the rational individual seeking to suppress the Dionysian or allow reason to be the adjudicator (Socrates, Augustine, Luther, Descartes, Newton, Kant) has actually also been the greatest amplifier of the Dionysian, straight to the AI/gene future.

This is awesome! We need the SF version of Statue of Liberty. Flame = Intelligence. What should its new colossus be? + Bloomberg needs to come back to Bloomberg. Why is this “tech right obsessed with big statues” - one of the best things Bloomberg did was get FDR’s Four Freedom’s park done. The idea that it’s about Western Supremacy. Yes? How is that controversial for an American media establishment to say. It’s why immigrants come here - because it leads to a better life. Learn from it, know why, contribute to it, and pass it on. Vs what we normalize today which is bringing in inferior values that led to failed economies, and playing victim to one of the greatest periods of abundance in history vs advocating for agency. A few nice fly-bys.

Our recent constructive article in Bloomberg made a few omissions which were communicated during fact-checking but not included. It reads “To Calvin, Prometheus exemplifies the “fundamental dynamism that defines the West” — never mind the myth’s lesson about hubris.” However, it is not a nevermind, nor is it a lesson about hubris. As far as the punishment Prometheus was subjected to by Zeus, this is an essential element we articulate and the Prometheion Museum beneath will also be dedicated to the lesson surrounding the Promethean Ordeal. But keeping true to the power of the mythos, not just cosmetic aspects of the common fairytale.  Prometheus is the liberator of mankind. He is the first freedom fighter. He imbued Man with the traits which allowed him to become free himself: an overcoming will, the vision for technology and entrepreneurship, the capacity to overcome great hardship and the willful expending of one’s life in service of powerful, creative and noble acts. The ancients understood Man as heroic being, possessing of these traits. Prometheus, whose name means “foresight” or more precisely “prior to truth,”is characterized by the power to dynamically initiate and heroically imprint one’s internal blueprint onto the world. This is the essence of Manifest Destiny central to the American ethos and of the Pursuit of Happiness which is the American covenant. Very important.  Prometheus exemplifies the archetype of expending one’s life in the service of powerful, creative and noble acts by himself having his life tortured away from him for the most heroic act of all: creating Man and imbuing him with Promethean power and capacity. He wasn’t tortured for “defying the gods.” He was chained and tortured because Man himself as heroic creator must endure hardship in order to say Yes to life, in order to see his vision stamped upon the cosmos. The allegory is that he was chained and tortured for the offense of freeing Mankind from the slave camp which Zeus had intended for Man. His chains and his ordeal represent the enormous but bounded potential we have within us. The liver in those times was used in augury and was synonymous with future-seeing, while Zeus is a stultified totalitarian. His liver was consumed by Zeus’ eagle because Zeus must jealously steal the Promethean powers Zeus lacks.  Modern day Zeus is synonymous with statism and communism, the static, totalizing, uncreative phenomenon which is predatory and yet codependent on the heroic, creative industrious capacity of Promethean Man. Meanwhile, we are on the verge of an undiscovered country, a new space age, a new age of tech technological science and profound ever-expanding possibility for humanity’s future. Something truly great made possible by heroic creators, inventors and artists. Yet Western countries have been and are being bled dry by false, statist, Zeus-worshiping ideologies. Proliferating the understanding of Promethean mythos toward the inexhaustible regeneration and ever-creative, ever-overcoming power of Man we feel will usher in this Golden Age of prosperity and abundance.  We aim for our monument to kick off and commemorate the beginning of a new epoch of Western history when creativity, industriousness and a brilliant new regime of aesthetics take root toward a new plateau of beauty, abundance and human triumph.
